Jeffrey Herlings has spoken about the speed and talent of Britain’s Conrad Mewse and feels he has elite GP level speed and is bewildered that he doesn’t race MXGP.
After a high speed duel in race one at Blaxhall that saw Mewse leading when the red flag came out and therefore take the win, Herlings said:
“I wrote him a message on Instagram, I said you can be around 4, 5, 6 in MXGP. This morning I put two really good laps and I’m pretty convinced it would have been top 3 in MXGP and this guy beat me by 0.6! I don’t understand why he doesn’t ride GPs, if he takes the speed he has in England he would be top five.”
Will this be the confidence boost Conrad needs to have maybe the fastest rider of all time saying such complimentary things? Let’s hope Mewse can get back in the GPs and unlock that British championship speed at world level.
